3-6 months remains the most likely scenario. If I look at Sun Yat-Sen, it was rather quick but it is being sold for doubloons, not coal.

I'd love a skilled or talented commander to go with that. I know that would be dumb, so I will do my best to hold off. I won't get my 25% coupon until June (is that for everyone?) but I am pretty much ready to splurge and put steel toward the Brisbane. Just use it in an emergency, not 'I want to buy a Coal ship faster' Edited April 26 by GrantwhyĪny idea about how long it usually takes such a ship to end up in the armory? Coal emergency reserve better, but Steel is ok. Now, it's been a long while since WG removed a Coal ship, and the reasons why those ships were removed don't seem to apply to any of the current Coal ships, but I think it's a good habit to have a emergency reserve of Coal, just in case.Īnd if that emergency reserve is Steel, that's OK. People who spent Steel to get Coal ships a few weeks or months faster, missed out. People who had Steel saved were able to get a ship by converting a small amount to. More than a few people were short a few thousand to a few tens of thousands Coal when the removal happened. WG announce their removal 3 months before the actual removal, but to get enough Coal for one ship that's not a lot of time.

Georgia & Thunderer removed Update 0.10.1 <- all those ships used to be available for Coal. Jean Bart & Smolensk, removed Update 0.9.3. * Grind as much Coal as you can, and if you don't have enough you can use Steel to get that ship (preferable just a few days before the 'go-away' date). Steel is your emergency fund for when WG announce the removal of Coal ships and you decide you *must* get one before it goes away. Steel is hard to earn, Coal is easy to earn - it just takes time. The is another very good reason to not spent your Steel to get a Coal ship faster. 'Why bother' because this is a long term game and eventually you will get enough Steel for a ship (closest emote to a Kitten Hang In There motivational poster) When you first start earning Steel it seems like it will be *forever* to earn enough to buy a Steel ship, so why bother? I am pretty much ready to splurge and put steel toward the Brisbane.
